So capital decisions get made late, on instinct, or not at all.
01 · The gap
Too big for instinct, too small for a CFO
Businesses with $2M to $50M in revenue are growing fast, and running finance on instinct.
We serve established small businesses and early mid-market companies. They are focused on serving their customers, too big to run finance on instinct and too small for a CFO or treasury team. Most stall for three reasons.
1
No one owns capital.
The bookkeeper or accountant looks backward, closing the books and handling tax. No one’s job is to look forward: when to raise, where to deploy, and which tools or rails would do it faster and cheaper.
2
The tools are scattered.
Money moves through systems that don’t talk to each other. Books reconcile once a month, so owners decide on numbers weeks old, and a business with several locations has no single view at all.
3
Capital arrives after it’s needed.Where we differentiate
The business pays for staff, supplies and equipment when it does the work, and gets paid weeks or months later. Banks underwrite past results, not the work just delivered, so the gap goes unfunded or gets filled with expensive cash advances.

Payment applications and lien waivers
A slow payer that almost always pays
Insurers, governments and large companies pay late, but they almost always pay. The risk is timing, not default.
Meanwhile the business’s own data, its claims, timesheets, payment applications, books and spend, proves the work was done. Specialized lending underwritten on that proof can fund the gap where general-purpose lenders can’t.
Reliable payer, slow payment
Losses stay low because the risk is timing.
Proof we can underwrite
Claims, timesheets and payment applications.
Room to compete
Underserved verticals, not crowded ones like trucking or construction.
Reuse
Each new vertical runs on an engine we already have.
Our north star
Every business in command of its capital, whatever its size or industry.
Our mission is to help businesses earn, raise and deploy capital at the speed of their business.
02 · What command looks like
A business is in command of its capital when it can do six things on its own terms.
Collect
Turn delivered work into cash quickly. What is still owed can be funded when the business needs it.
Pay
Pay suppliers, bills and people on time by the fastest, cheapest method. Payroll on schedule or early; contractors anywhere paid instantly, in stablecoins where that is faster.
Raise
Draw on credit to grow, against claims, invoices, timesheets or spend, on terms priced for how it actually earns.
Deploy
Put capital to work where it grows the business, like payment plans that help customers say yes to treatment or a project.
Aggregate
Pool purchasing with similar businesses to win better supplier rates.
Know where it stands
Books reconciled daily, a close in days not weeks, and one view across every entity and location.
03 · How we win
We win each business in a set order.
Every step solves a problem the owner already feels, and adds data that makes the next step better.
One business, five steps. Each one earns the right to the next.

Every dollar sharpens the next
Solves a problem the owner feelsWhere our data advantage compounds
The card is how we meet a business. Funding the gap is where we win the relationship.
The data flywheel
Each product adds data that prices the next one better. Books, spend and proof of work together give us an underwriting view general-purpose lenders don’t have.
Engines that travel
The claims engine built for dental carries to medical practices and home health. The timesheet engine built for MSPs carries to staffing.
AI runs the back office
Daily reconciliation, collections follow-up, reorders and expiry tracking, done by agents. That is how a small team serves this segment profitably.
Each new vertical costs less to enter than the last.
04 · What we’re building
One cash flow layer. Built once, configured for each vertical.
Most of the parts already exist as platforms. We don’t rebuild them. We choose the best of each for a vertical, connect them into one layer, and add the two things the platforms don’t provide.

05 · Why now
05.1
Intelligence
AI has made financial intelligence cheap.
The work that made small-ticket credit uneconomic is now work agents can do. AI is how we deliver, not what we sell.
Daily reconciliation
Underwriting on proof of work
Collections follow-up
Reorders and expiry tracking
05.2
Platforms
The parts finally exist.
Card issuing, ledgers, lending partners, payout rails and accounting integrations are now platforms you assemble rather than infrastructure you build. A small team can stand up a full cash flow layer for one vertical.
05.3
Money
Stablecoins have a federal framework.
With the GENIUS Act enacted and Treasury now writing its rules, paying a contractor abroad can be instant and cheaper than an international transfer.
06 · Why us
Pistacia sits where payments, credit, compliance and small-business accounting meet. We have built in each.
Three co-founders, both halves of the story.

Co-founders · Product and engineering
From Intuit
Two of our co-founders built and launched Intuit Enterprise Suite, QuickBooks for the mid-market.
They know the capital and cash flow needs of growing businesses firsthand, and the accounting system we connect to first. We can design the product and build it.
Compliance as a strength.
Credit, patient financing and stablecoin payouts are all regulated. Getting compliance right from day one is what lets us launch them.
The promise
Once the gap is funded, a business can command its capital. With its cash flow on one modern layer, it can raise when it sees fit and deploy where it grows: offering customers payment plans, paying its people early, earning on its spending and buying together for better rates.
Every business already runs a capital operation. Pistacia puts it in command, at the speed of its business.
What’s in a name
Pistacia is the genus of the pistachio tree, a nut known and eaten around the world. We wanted a name with universal recall for something as universal as money. In 17th-century India, merchants used nuts as small change. American business owners still talk about “making the nut”: covering the month’s payroll, rent and bills before anything else. That is the gap we exist to close.
And a pistachio has its own intelligence: it opens on its own when it’s ripe.
